Chore Housekeeping Services

In-home general housekeeping is available monthly to seniors age 60 and older who require help with cleaning, laundry, and shopping. The Chore Housekeeping Program helps seniors remain independent and in their own homes for as long as possible. An in-home assessment is completed by a case manager to determine eligibility. Housekeepers vacuum floors and rugs, dust or sweep bare floors, dust furniture, change bed linens, wash and fold laundry, organize closets and shelves, wash and dry dishes, clean bathrooms and kitchens, go grocery shopping, and do general straightening such as emptying ashtrays, wastebaskets, and garbage. Each program participant receives a list of duties not performed by housekeepers. Since the homes visited are all different, housekeepers first do the chores that clients consider most important. Participants are expected to provide supplies necessary to complete the chores requested. A contribution scale is established for this program
