Mental Health Services  

Proviso Township seniors are eligible for free individual and group counseling to deal with anxiety, depression and other emotional issues related to aging.

A number of mental health issues are addressing including dealing with illness, loss of family, friends and pets, adult children or grandchildren who unexpectedly move home, declining memory; and other aspects of the aging process that can be challenging and frustrating. Specialized services are available for those individuals with self-neglect issues. West Suburban Senior Services encourages Proviso Township seniors to contact its Healthy Aging Counselor for individual or group assistance. The counselor’s role is to help senior citizens define their concerns and then work with them to develop a plan of corrective action. All meetings are confidential, and there is no charge for the service.
